Abstract

The invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tyre having two or more juxtaposed tread strips 3 which are separated from one another by one or more circumferentially-extending grooves 2', and a reinforcing belt 5 between the carcase 1 and each tread strip, the width of each belt corresponding substantially to the width of the associated tread strip. The width of the or each clrcumferentially-extending groove, and the belt-free region located therebelow, is desirably 20 to 50% of the width of the tread strips. Each belt preferably comprises two parallel cord piles with the cord angle with the circumferential direction being less than 10 DEG or between 18 DEG and 25 DEG , and the carcass ply preferably includes radial cords. <IMAGE>
