Washing-machines with means fur circulating liquids. - An apparatus for use in washing clothes, crockery &c., comprises a receptacle a provided with a perforated false bottom c and connected by pipes f, g' with a pump g, so that liquid may continually be sprayed upon, and circulated through, the articles. The spraying- device may consist of a perforated annulus, or, as shown, of a rose k carried by a pipe g<2> swivelled to the pipe g<1>. The flow of water may be stopped automatically, when the rose is turned away from the receptacle, by making the joint between the pipes g', g<2> in the form of a plug cock, or by connecting the pipe g<2> with means for stopping the pump. The lid b may be carried by the pipe g<2>, which may be mounted so as to rise when turned away. Air and steam may be introduced into the vessel a.
