4542. Sansom, C. M., and Wicks, G. W. Feb. 28. Locomotive railway vehicles.-Distributors for filter-beds are mounted on flangeless wheels B, which are prevented from leaving the rails by means of rollers G mounted on spindles E secured to the carriage D of the distributor. The lower portion I of the spindle is eccentric or cranked with regard to the upper portion H, so that by turning the spindle the distance of the rollers from the rail can be adjusted. The rollers may be kept in contact with the rail by means of a spring or weighted lever, and steel balls or rollers mounted in a cage may be substituted for them.
