Abstract

Pivoting-adjustments for a motor-car horn, wind-screen, or lamp bracket mounted on a supporting spindle 2 comprise washer members 4, 7, 9, 11 which are assembled on the squared end 3, the alternate washer members being connected respectively to the spindle and movable horn or like member, and frictionally clamped together by an end nut. The washers 4, 9 are loosely mounted on the member 3 and have axially disposed peripheral projections 5 whereby these washers are connected to each other and to the adjustable member 12 by engagement of the projections with recesses 10, 13. The washers 7, 11 have slots shaped to engage with the squared end 3 of the supporting spindle. When the parts are assembled as shown in Fig. 3, the milled nut 19 provides for an adjustable frictional engagement between the two sets of washers respectively secured to the spindle and the member 12. One or more pairs of washers 4, 7 may be used as desired. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, the device is shown applied to a pair of clip members. In this construction, the end washer 15 is fixed on the face of the member 12 and is provided with peripheral recesses for engagement with a projection on an intermediate loose washer.
