Abstract

1537557 Telegraphy NOLTON COMMUNICATIONS Ltd 23 Nov 1977 [23 Aug 1976] 35069/76 Heading H4P A telegraph (telex) transmitter incorporates a known optical coupler 12 (LED-phototransistor) to isolate telegraph apparatus (not shown) operating at voltage levels 0, 12 V. from the line levels Π85 V. Bootstrap integrator 14, R5-R7, Cl, C2, acts as a second order Butterworth filter to control pulse flank slope to give trapezoidal pulses. An amplifier comprising a push-pull phase splitter and driver stage follows the filter. A buffer amplifier (not shown) may be interposed between the coupler, and filter. The input signal is of bipolar rectangular form. The arrangement shown is intended to replace a relay/filter isolator circuit, and may be encapsulated. The amplifier may incorporate negative feedback (not shown).
