1536046 Automatic control systems INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 30 June 1976 27318/76 Heading G3N In a data processing system wherein power supplies to a plurality of sub-systems have to be switched in sequentially, one of the sub-systems comprises a service processor 1 with its own power supply 15 and the remaining sub-systems such as store A, processor B, and input/output units IOC to IOZ all have power supplies 5 controlled (via adapter 7) by the service processor subsystem. The service processor includes a microprogram for the above-mentioned power supply control function, arranged to control all the power supplies except its own power supply 15. Such control may include error correction and temperature compensation as well as the necessary sequencing on switch-on. The service processor is itself controlled by micro-programs and one of its functions is to load micro-programs into all sub-systems, including itself.
