Abstract

1534502 Bale stack lifting trailer G JOHNSTON 31 Oct 1975 [21 Aug 1974 15 Nov 1974] 36727/74 and 49667/74 Heading B8E An open ended trailer has side walls 3, 4 pivoted at 103, 104 on a cross-beam 105, a towing attachment 2, and is supported by wheels 7 vertically raisable and lowerable by rams 8. The open end has a cable 14 detachably attached to cables 15 so as to be tensionable by rams 16. To transport a stack of bales the side walls are swung apart about the pivots 103, 104 by a ram 13 and the trailer is backed around the stack, after raising the wheels 7 by the rams 8 to lower the side walls to the ground the ram 13 restores the side walls to their parallel position to grip the stack which is secured by attaching and tensioning the cable 14. After lowering the wheels 7 to raise the gripped stack it can be towed away.
