1516120 Endless conveyers YAMAKYU CHAIN KK 3 Nov 1975 [31 May 1975 24 June 1975] 45691/75 Heading B8A A conveyer system for circulating packaged foods within a treating chamber comprises a pair of parallel upper rails 10a (only one shown) and a pair of parallel lower rails 12a (only one shown), and lift means in the form of endless conveyers 20a, 20b, 22a, 22b, each of the latter comprising two parallel chains connected by means of rails 34. Trays 14 on which the food packages 40 are carried are provided with rollers 16 and move along a rectangular path defined by the rails 10a, 12a and the endless conveyers, the trays 14 moving from left to right under the action of a pusher (18) along the upper rails 10a, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that each tray such as the end tray 14e is displaced on to opposing rails 34a, 34a<SP>1</SP> of the endless chains 20a, 20b and is displaced vertically downwardly thereby to the level of the lower rails 12a at which a second pusher (19) pushes it on to the lower rails along which it travels, being pushed by preceeding trays until it moves on to opposed rails on the endless chains 22a, 22b which lift the tray back to the level of the upper rails 10a again. The endless chains are driven by a motor 33 and chains 37a, 37a<SP>1</SP>, 37b, 37b<SP>1</SP>. Each tray 14 has a shelving arrangement such that it can accommodate three layers of food packages 40, and feed and delivery conveyers 42, 44 are provided for feeding the packages to and from the rails 34 of the lift means. In order to displace packages to the delivery conveyer and from the feed conveyer, a mechanism is provided which comprises a crank wheel 46 which rotates a crank arm 50 to which a delivery pusher (59) and a feed pusher (56) are attached, Fig. 2 (not shown), those two pushers being vertically spaced by a distance corresponding to the distance between adjacent shelves of a tray.
