Abstract

1507138 Carbon black from rubber-containing solid waste SANYO ELECTRIC CO Ltd 12 Oct 1976 [16 Oct 1975] 42309/76 Heading C1A [Also in Division C5] Carbon black may be obtained from rubbercontaining organic solid waste by thermal cracking of the waste with superheated steam obtained from a superheated steam generator of the internal heating type, the water, recovered by condensing the resulting cracked product and steam, being recycled for use as a source of water for the steam generator. The waste may comprise tyres, rubber hose or golf balls and is preferably not broken up before treatment. The carbon black may be reused in the manufacture of rubber products.
