Abstract

1503505 Two-part couplings RISTS WIRES & CABLES Ltd 18 April 1975 [1 May 1974] 19080/74 Heading H2E In an electrical connector, each of a plurality of terminals is inserted into a respective channel 12, 13, 14 in an insulating carrier 11 (moulded synthetic resin) via the opening side of said channel, a snap-fit and retention of the terminal being facilitated by the housing having detents 21 which snap over recesses 22 in the contact and longitudinal movement of the terminal in the channel being prevented by abutment surfaces 23, 24. The terminal may be of male, female or hermaphrodite form, of a flat or cylindrical structure. In Fig. 4 each carrier provides cover for the channels of the carrier below. Casing 28 provides cover for the channels of carrier 26. The carriers are retained in casing 28 by barbs 29 and abutment surfaces (not shown) on the carriers and casing respectively.
