Abstract

1500909 Conveyer belts DUNLOP Ltd 2 June 1975 [13 June 1974] 26354/74 Heading B8A A conveyer belt having increased resistance to longitudinal bending is formed by two toothed belts 2, 3, which are in toothed engagement in the load carrying zone of the belt. The latter has longitudinal reinforcements 4 and lateral reinforcements 5. The part of the belts in toothed engagement is supported by rollers 8. These may extend over the width of the belt, or alternatively may support just the edges. The teeth 6 of each belt may, instead of being in separate projections as shown, extend across the whole width of the belt. They may then be formed with alternate portions of different thickness (Fig. 4, not shown). Rows of discontinuous teeth 6 may be arranged in chevron formation (Fig. 3, not shown).
