Abstract

1479079 Knitting machines VYZKUMNY A VYVOJOVY USTAV ZAVIDU VSEOBECNEHO STROJIRENSTVI 29 July 1975 31594/75 Heading D1C In a circular or flat knitting machine selectors 22 of which at least a central part 44 is resilient are deflected by a cam 21 at the beginning of each feed to the Fig. 3 position in which they are held by a magnet assembly 27 to maintain the associated needles in inactive position unless they are released by energising a magnet 31 (for clearing) or 32 (for tucking) in which case they are lifted by a cam 23 or 24 and their inclined upper edge 43 engages a recess in the lower end of associated jacks 8 to rock the latter about pivots 39 and thereby enable lifting of the jacks and needles. The magnet assembly 27 comprises permanent holding magnets 28 to 30 and the magnets 31, 32 are also permanent magnets but are provided with windings to weaken their force for selection. The magnets may be divided as shown with separate windings to cooperate with alternate selectors of different lengths. The windings of magnets 31, 32 are controlled by an electronic programming device. Cams 9 and 10 respectively raise jacks 8 to clearing and tucking position.
