1469104 Nuclear reactors UNITED KING- DOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 26 March 1974 [4 May 1973] 21279/73 Heading G6C In a helium-cooled nuclear reactor, especially an HTR, corrosion of in-core carbon over which coolant flows is minimized by selecting pore diameter of exposed carbon such that the coolant flow has a velocity profile in which a sub-layer of laminar flow over the exposed carbon surface is maintained. Pore diameters of less than 25Á are preferred.
