Abstract

1463094 Packages: bags S REDMOND 6 Aug 1974 [20 Aug 1973] 34536/74 Headings B8C and B8K A package comprises a liquid, paste, gel, or a powder contained between a relatively stiff but flexible side 24 and a flexible side 30, the stiff side 24 having a cut pattern 34 extending thereacross and about which the package can be bent causing the cuts to open and form a discharge passage. The pattern of cuts may take various forms (Figs. 1A-1C, 4A-4H, not shown), and extend partially or wholly through the side 24. The side 24 may be of plastics, or card-, fibre-, or paperboard and be covered on one or both sides with a plastics or wax sealant or a foil which may be coated with a thermoplastic lacquer. The side 24 may be formed from an endless web which receives the cut pattern, is calendered and is then coated. The sides 24, 30 may be formed into a pouch which is then filled.
