Abstract

1448561 Mechanical switches BONNELLA SWITCHES Ltd 1 Nov 1973 [9 Nov 1972] 51676/72 Heading H1N In a rocker actuated switch the rocker 22, Fig. 1, has a pair of operating arms 24 spaced apart in the direction of the pivot axis 23 and together adapted to operate and engage the switching mechanism such as a contact carrying slider 37 through integral extensions 24A. The space between the arms 24 is provided for the mounting of an indicator lamp 42 attached to terminals 43, 44. The contact carrying slider 37 carries at least one spring biased contact 40 slidable over fixed contact studs 32, 33, 34 and insulating stud heads 35, 36. The slider 37 has projections 41 engageable under the load of the spring bias against detents 16 in the base 14 of the rocker housing 12 through which the extensions 24A project. The pivot projections 23 for the rocker 22 have sloping faces (25), Fig. 2 (not shown), for resilient insertion into apertures (13) in the casing 12. The contact housing 30 is attached to the rocker housing 12 by projections engaged in apertures of resilient lugs (17) of the housing 12. In a modification the head 21 of the rocker 22 may be removable to permit access to the lamp 42 and has resilient projections engageable in corresponding recesses on the rocker body.
