Abstract

1426949 Clamps HORIZONT GERATEWERK GmbH [trading as HORIZONT GERATEWERK DR HEINZ MULLER] 27 Dec 1973 [23 Dec 1972] 59880/73 Heading E2B A device for detachably securing an article to a structural element comprises a threaded bolt 3, means at one end of the bolt for holding part of the article non-rotatably with respect to the bolt, an inner and an outer clamping arm 6a, 6b, each rotatable on the bolt and a nut 7 threaded on the bolt from the other end thereof to bear against the side of the outer clamping arm remote, in use, from the article. The arms 6a, 6b are pivoted together by a rivet 6c. The bolt 3 is secured to a lamp casing la by an internal plate 4 and an external plate 5 which fits over a polygonal section portion 3a. The plates are secured together by screws and are positioned by ribs on the lamp casing. The arm 6a has a recess 13 which fits the section 3a of the bolt whereby the clamping arms may be held at predetermined angular positions with respect to the lamp casing. A moulded component may be fixed over the nut 7 which can only be released by a tool which may have spigots engaging in recesses in the nut. In a modification the clamping arms are substantially parallel and have a further bolt 11 with a nut which is tightened against the external surface of the outer clamping arm together with the mat 7 to clamp the structural element. Magnets on the plate 5 may hold the inner clamping arm during assembly of the device. The bolt 11 may be pivoted to the arm 6a and the nut may abut the inner surface of the clamping arm which is adjusted for clamping by tightening the nut 7.
