Abstract

1420024 Wrap-around carriers; carrier OLINKRAFT Inc 13 April 1973 17934/73 Headings B8C and B8P A wrap-around carrier which has top, bottom, side and end walls and a partition member and which is openable by tearing along cut lines 26 in the top wall, includes handholes, 36 and 50, Fig. 2, or 112 and 132, Figs. 5 and 6, in the top wall and the partition member. The carrier may be erected from a single blank, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), or the combination of a partition member blank, Fig. 6, and a carrier body blank, Fig. 5. In the latter embodiment the carrier body blank comprises side wall panels 14, 16, hinged to a bottom wall panel 96, end wall panels 18, 20, 22, 24 and top wall panels such as 130. A pair of handholes 132 are cut in the top wall panel 130, the tear-cuts 26 are formed in sloping wall portions of the top wall panels, and bottle locating apertures 64 and caps 54 are provided in the side and top wall panels. The partition member blank which includes a pair of handholes 112, is secured within the carrier body by tabs 108 received in openings 106 in the carrier bottom wall 96, and by side tabs 114, 116, 122, 124 secured to the end panels 18, 20, 22, 24. The partition member also includes butterfly partition panels 48. In the alternative embodiment wherein the carrier is formed from a single blank, the bottom wall comprises two panels 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, and the partition member comprises two panels 38, 38<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 7 (not shown), folded face-to-face and hinged together at their upper edges and to the inner edges of the bottom wall panels 12, 12<SP>1</SP> at their lower edges. In most other respects the blank of this alternative embodiment and the carrier formed therefrom are substantially similar to that described with respect to Figs. 5 and 6.
