Abstract

1412558 Luffing arm apparatus SIMON ENG DUDLEY Ltd 26 June 1974 [27 June 1973] 30700/73 Heading B8H In a vehicle mounted, platform supporting luffing arm apparatus the boom comprises a pair of boom members 13a, 13b forming part of a parallelogram linkage and pivotally mounted at one end to a support 12 and pivotally connected at the other end to a first part 14a of a turntable 14. The other part 14b of the turntable, which is rotatable about a vertical axis relative to the first part, pivotally mounts a telescopic boom section 15, which at its free end carries a cage 17. Hydraulic actuators 18, 19 serve for the erection of the boom. The cage 17 may be detachable from the boom or alternatively the boom may be offset from the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle so that the cage may be carried at one side of the vehicle cab, yet still within the bounds of the vehicle.
