Abstract
1390963 Presser foot TEXTRON INC 13 June 1972 [23 June 1971] 27615/72 Heading D1G A presser foot employed for sewing a sliding clasp fastener stringer 68 to a fabric 70 comprises two channels 130 on the underside of the foot either of which accommodates the element bearing edge of the stringer, the foot being provided with a guide portion extending from the front face of the foot. The guide is faceted as at 146, 148 and is constituted by an extension of the Vee-shaped partition between the grooves, the partition being intercepted by a needle hole 14. The foot, which may be moulded of a plastics material presents projections 62 of inverted 'L' shape which define grooves embracing oppositely disposed tongues on a shank 66. These grooves, shown as transverse to the longitudinal axis of the foot and provided at the rear thereof, may extend longitudinally of the foot, may be recessed in the top surface 12 and may be located elsewhere on the foot.
