Abstract

1365514 Tube walls for furnaces KAWASAKI JUKOGYO KK 2 Sept 1971 41055/71 Heading F4B A water tube wall, particularly for the waste heat boilers of a metallurgical furnace, comprises a plurality of filler rods b disposed between the tubes a, the filler rods being welded to the tubes at each edge of a first surface b-1 along or close to a common tangent plane of the tubes and at each edge of a second surface b-2 close to or along the plane of the tube axes, the filler rod b substantially filling the space between the first and second surfaces. The first surfaces b-1 of the filler rods may be slightly concave, or may be slightly spaced from the common tangent plane of the tubes a. In construction, the edges of the second surface are first welded to the tubes.
