Abstract

136,473. Emery, E. J. June 10, 1919. Protectors, construction of.-Soles or heels are provided with a substantially flat depressed central portion 2 joined to a marginal portion 6 by a sloping part so as to permit the central portion 2 to move upwardly within the marginal portion 6. The upper surface of the part 6 is concaved as shown so as to fit snugly against the sole or heel of the boot when fastened flat to it. Air is trapped in the central depression and acts as a cushion. The outer edges 4 are bevelled as shown.
