Abstract
1360800 Reciprocating pumps SIMON ENG DUDLEY Ltd 17 Nov 1971 [5 Dec 1970] 57905/70 Heading F1A A pump, e.g. for concrete, comprises two pistons 12, 13 operated to provide continuous delivery, one piston performing its delivery stroke while the other performs its suction stroke, the suction stroke being more rapid than the delivery stroke, and the beginning of the delivery stroke of one piston overlapping the end of the delivery stroke of the other, the piston speeds during overlap being half of the normal delivery speed. Pistons 12, 13 are actuated by hydraulic motor pistons 16, 17, which engage plungers 32 to 37 at the ends of their strokes to change over valves 29, 30 controlling flow between a supply reservoir 26, pump cylinders 10, 11 and outlet 31, and valves 24, 25 controlling flow from hydraulic supply pumps 22, 23 to motor cylinders 18, 19. Valve 25 divides the supply from pump 23 evenly between cylinders 18, 19 during the half-speed delivery stroke overlap.
