Abstract

1355830 Reciprocating pumps CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 12 Dec 1972 [31 Dec 1971] 60973/71 Heading F1A A duplex pump for independently pressurizing the two sections of a split, full power, hydraulic braking system comprises two pistons 6 reciprocated by respective eccentrics or linkages on a common crank-shaft 4, and each working in respective pumping chamber 17 connected to an inlet chamber 10 via a passage 13 controlled by a spring-loaded valve 23, the pressure at the respective outlet 19 acting on a plunger 25 via passages 27 to close valve 23 when a predetermined pressure is exceeded. The valve operating pressure is adjusted by screwing valve housing 22 into or out of main housing 1. An inlet filter 29, and inlet and outlet valves 16, 20 are provided. A passage connects one of the inlet chambers to the crank-case for lubrication, Fig. 1 (not shown).
