Abstract

1354048 Safety belt buckles KLIPPAN GmbH 24 Feb 1972 [27 Feb 1971] 8673/72 Heading E2B A buckle for a safety belt includes a housing 5 and a plate-shaped tongue 7 slidably engageable within the housing 5 and adjusted to be connected to a safety belt. The housing 5 comprises a pair of similar mutually spaced plates 1 (2, Fig. 2, not shown) each of which is provided with a guide groove 12 extending transversely to the slider in direction of the tongue 7. The grooves 12 are in alignment with each other and slidably house a latch member 13 which is rigidly connected to a push button 16 and is spring biassed inwardly of the housing. The tongue is provided with a recess 10 in one of its mutually opposed lateral edges, which recess 10 when the tongue is inserted in the housing, is engaged by the latch member 13. In the construction shown the spring biassing of the latch member 13 is effected by a leg 19 of a spring 18 another leg 20 of the spring 18 engaging the tongue in its inserted position so that, in actuation of the push button 16, the tongue is released and urged out of the housing 5 by the leg 20. The housing is formed with a plastics material coating.
