Abstract

1322649 Mixing ZIMMER AG PLANUNG UND BAU VON INDUSTRIEANLAGEN 24 Nov 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 54614/71 Heading B1C Apparatus for mixing a viscous material, e.g. containing fused synthetic polymers, comprises a gear pump 6, an additive feed chamber 12 at the delivery side of the pump 6, and a mixing screw 15, driven within a housing 14 synchronously with the pump 6. The pump 6 comprises two gear wheels 7, 8 driven through a coupling 10, and material enters through ducts 1, 3, 5, an additive being supplied through an opening 13 to the chamber 12; The material and additive are mixed by the screw 15, which ends in a polygonal sectioned extension 16 around which the material flows to a discharge duct 18, e.g. for feed to a spinning nozzle unit (not shown).
