Abstract
1291527 Fluid pressure motor control circuit VOLKSWAGENWERK AG 15 July 1970 [17 July 1969] 34287/70 Heading F1P A double-acting hydraulic or pneumatic operated piston and cylinder device for lifting a load 3 is held against the load when a 5-way 3- position spool valve 10 is in its central position shown in which position working fluid admitted to a supply port P opens adjustable spring-loaded lift valves 25, 26 to gain access to passages A2, B2, 23, 24 in the valve casing, recess 11 in the valve spool and conduits leading to opposite ends of the cylinder 1. In operation and to lower the load 3 a magnetic valve 20 is opened thereby admitting fluid pressure through a passage 18 to a control chamber at the right-hand end of the valve spool which is then moved to the left and thereby connects the supply port P with the upper side of piston 2 and connects the lower side of the piston to an exhaust port R and an adjustable throttle valve 7. Valves 25, 26 remain closed until the valve spool is re-centered whereon valves 25, 26 open to provide pressure fluid to both ends of cylinder 1. Excess pressure developed during braking of piston 2 is vented through one or other of relief valves 33, 34.
