Abstract

1291443 Seals for earcups face masks &c GENTEX CORP 7 Oct 1969 [26 Dec 1968] 49312/69 Heading AST [Also in Divisions A3 and H4] A seal for an earcup, facemask, microphone housing &c, comprises a resilient annular base 18 with first and second flanges 20 and 22 projecting from the base and of which the outer one 22 projects radially outwardly with respect to the centre of the seal and the inner one 20 projects inwardly and at least one thin flexible fin 30 between the flanges and projecting away from the base in generally the same direction. The fin or fins may be attached to a flexible base sheet 32 which is either bonded to the channel between the flanges or attached at its inner and outer edges to the flanges. The free edges of the fins may be of irregular profile (Fig. 7, not shown) or repeatedly bent transversely of their length to form a grid pattern (Figs. 10 and 11, not shown).
