1279470 Double twist spindle SOC RHODIACETA 31 Dec 1969 [31 Dec 1968] 63603/69 Heading DID A double twist spindle comprises a rotor 5 on a spindle 1, a radial bore 7 in the rotor, an axial bore 8 extending through the rotor 5, a fixed yarn guide 9 at the junction of the axial and radial bores and a stator 10 rotatably mounted on the spindle with magnetic means 17, 18 to prevent its rotation. The magnets 17, 18 are located in apertures in stator 10 and the support 2 so that their faces are closely adjacent a thin portion of rotor 5 and are close to each other e.g. 7mm. Yarn guide 9 is ceramic and formed with a V-shaped groove eccentric of its longitudinal axis; it is removably mounted in a bore through the spindle, it being held in place by a clip. Stator 10 and rotor 5 are of plastics material; flange 19 on rotor 5 is of aluminium alloy. Package 12 is surrounded by a metal shield 15 and transparent lid 16.
