Abstract
1,256,471 Fixing toner images. XEROX CORP. June 30, 1970 [July 3, 1969], No.31616/70. [Heading G2H] Toner images are fixed on a support 12 by first passing the support between driven stainless steel rollers 32, 34 exerting between 50 and 200 lbs per inch to precondition the toner image prior to passage through a reflective cavity 54 containing a xenon flash lamp 56. The wavelength of the radiation emitted by the lamp is such that radiation is absorbed by the toner but not by the support material 12.
