Abstract
1,251,724. Mechanical switches. SIEMENS A.G. 12 March, 1969 [12 March, 1968], No. 13119/69. Heading H1N. A switch comprises an insulating flat plate 5 provided on one face with two separate layer contacts, one of which, 14, Fig. 3 (not shown) is connected to a terminal 18, and a resiliently biased bridging contact 4 moved towards and away from the face to bridge the layer contacts by an operating member 1. As shown, the operating member 1 is a push-button and bridging contact 4 is resiliently biased by spring 3. Plate 5 is common to all the switches in the assembly and the operating members are guided by apertures 7, Fig. 3 (not shown) in the plate, the layer contacts 13, 14, Fig. 3 coming to the edge of the apertures. All the contacts 13 on the plate are connected together. The plate and contacts 13, 14 is a printed circuit board. Switch 9 operates a mains switch 10 and when the pushbuttons are depressed they are held in position by a locking mechanism (not described) and are released by depressing push-button 11 which acts through a member 12. The switches are mounted in a frame 6, Fig. 2 (not shown).
