Abstract
1,246,177. Attracted armature electromagnetic relays. MATSUSHITA DENKO K.K., and H. SAUER. 28 Feb., 1969 [29 Feb., 1968], No. 10873/69. Heading H1N. An electromagnetic relay has its armature 6 movable within a tubular coil former or bobbin 1 and provided with an insulatory member 8 which, during armature movement, or energization of the coil 25, operates a plurality of movable contact springs 10, 11, within the former 1. The armature 6 is retained and biased by a spring 18 and rocks on one of two polepieces 15, 14 secured on an insulating carrier 3 on which the contact springs 10, 11 and their cooperating movable contacts are also mounted. A magnetic cover 20 provides a flux return path. The Figs. 1 and 2 show a normally closed and a normally open contact set, 10, 22 and 11, 23 which may be electrically connected to provide a change-over arrangement with its contacts set to make-before-break or vice-versa as provided by the relative lengths of the contact engaging studs of the member 8. In Fig. 4 four contact sets are mounted on carriers 4, 5 for respective movable and fixed contacts 12, 13 and 19, 35 and the carriers 4, 5 have tapered faces 27, 28 fitting in the ends of the coil former 2. The armature 7 has retaining pins 37 which engage in the polepiece 16 (Fig. 3, not shown) and the magnetic cover 21 has spring tongues (Fig. 5, not shown) which engage the outer ends of the polepieces 16, 17 to retain the cover in place. The space between the cover and the coil and former assembly may be filled with epoxy resin.
