Abstract

1,241,283. Wells &c. LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT CORP. 13 Jan., 1970 [23 Jan., 1969], No. 1700/70. Heading E1F. A capsule 36 having an atmospheric chamber 52 containing a retracted telescopic wireline lubricator 55 is lowered into sealing contact with an underwater well head cellar 15 having a fluid tight chamber 46 surrounding a Christmas Tree 19 having a swab valve 25 and a blow-out preventer 27, the chamber 46 and a chamber 48 formed between the capsule and the cellar are put under atmospheric conditions, a path is formed between the capsule and cellar, a tool is connected to a wireline in the lubricator, the lubricator is extended into sealed engagement with the blowout preventer, and the tool is lowered into the well. The tool may be used for setting or removing down-hole flow control equipment, paraffin scraping, sand boiling, and fishing. (For Figure see next column)
