1,234,972. Polyurethane coating. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 2 Aug., 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 36971/68. Heading B2E. [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Wood, metal, asbestos cement, rubber, glass, synthetic resins, fabrics of natural and synthetic fibres, paper and leather may be coated with two component polyurethane lacquers prepared from isocyanate polymers of isocyanurate structure which are copolymers of aliphatic and aromatic polyisocyanates and polyhydroxyl compounds by dissolving the polyhydroxyl compounds in solvents and adding a polyisocyanate solution prior to application to the substrate, the addition being such as to provide an NCO/OH ratio of 0.3:1 to 1.5:1 (see Division C3). In Examples various lacquers are described as being useful as primers for wood and corrosion resistant primers for iron.
