Abstract

1,222,995. Drain cocks. SHIPSTON ENG. CO. Ltd. 16 April, 1969 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 9621/68. Heading F2V. A plastics drain cock has a body member 11 clamped against a housing by nut 13, and includes a plug 12 threaded on member 11 so as control flow through passages 18, 20, 22, 34, 33 by means of co-operating closure surfaces 21, 29. The latter includes an O-ring 30. Projection 31 of plug 12 has an enlarged head 32 which hinders attachment of the plug. Fluid collecting in the annular base of plug 12 can be allowed to escape through an axially directed passage (37). Passage 18 is hexagonal to accept a key for holding member 11 against rotation during rotation of nut 13.
