Abstract

1,188,145. Control of A.C. motors. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. 5 July, 1967 [5 July, 1966], No. 30959/67. Heading H2J. In a torque control system, a three-phase induction motor 3 is fed from a direct-current source Ug through inverter 1 whose output voltage is variable in frequency and amplitude. A signal Ii, representing the motor current, is compared with a reference signal Is, and the error signal is applied to a controller 4 for the inverter. A digital generator 5 is coupled to the motor and provides a rotational frequency signal fn which is added to a slip frequency signal fs to form a sum frequency signal f, the latter being applied to the controller 4 also. Function generators 11, 12 enable the signals Is and fs to be adjusted in such a manner that the main flux of the motor remains constant. A superimposed speed control is provided by analogue signal ni which is formed from the signal fn by converter 8 and is compared with reference signal ns. The difference signal is amplified and applied to the function generators 11, 12. A function generator 13 receives a signal dependent upon the slip frequency, and its output signal represents the phase angle between the stator current and main flux in analogue form. Unit 14 converts this output signal to pulse form for application to the controller 4. This enables rapid changes in the torque to be effected without a sudden change in the spatial relationship between the rotating field and the rotor taking place. To improve the dynamic behaviour of the motor at high speeds, the output of the function generator 13 is modified by a signal derived from the converter 8.
