Abstract

1,182,771. Cleaning electro-statographic surfaces. ARLSIDE Ltd. Feb. 21, 1967 [Dec.6, 1965; Dec.8, 1965], Nos.51586/65 and 54511/65. Heading G2H. An electro-statographic surface X is cleaned by a roller 8 engaged by a band 4 of cleaning material pressed against the roller 8 by a roller 2. A rotatable cam 5 engages a bearing 7 which supports the roller 2. Rotation of the cam 5 urges roller 2 against roller 8. The roller 8 has a surface of soft rubber, fur or fleece. The band 4 may be as described in Specification 1, 078,128 or may comprise a strip of foamed plastics material carrying a layer of powder particles or individual fibres.
