Abstract

1,174,223. Hand-tool handles. H. AMTENBRINK. 31 July, 1968 [31 July, 1967], No. 36491/68. Heading B4K. A handle, e.g. for a screwdriver, has a barrelshaped portion (3) symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the handle and having a middle region 4 where the handle is of greatest diameter and which in cross-section has a contour free of indentations (Fig. 3, not shown), the barrel-shaped portion being formed with a plurality of recesses 5, 6 extending longitudinally on either side of the middle region and being arranged regularly about the axis of the handle, adjacent recesses on each side of the middle region being separated by a ridge 7 which is convex in cross-section and concave in section in a plane through the longitudinal axis. The handle may have a hexagonal cross-section, and may be formed adjacent the blade of the tool with a hollow 1. Projections on the tool blade prevent relative rotation of the handle and tool.
