Abstract

1,162,186. Shelf brackets. B. HINDSGAUL. 4 May, 1967 [4 May, 1966], No. 20838/67. Heading A4B. A shelf bracket 5 is supported by a C-section upright 1 formed in its rear wall with depressions 2 defining shoulders 3, the bracket 5 comprising a U-section web part 11 carrying an upper bar portion 6 having opposed, lateral notches 7 at its rear end 17. The bracket 5 is fitted by passing the bracket end 17 through the open front of the upright 1 with the web 11 horizontal and then rotating through a quarter turn so that the inturned flanges (16) of the upright 1 engage the notches 7, the end 13 of the web 11 bears on the rear wall of the upright 1, and the bar end 17 rests on a shoulder 3. The bar 6 has narrow sections (10, Fig. 5) which fit between webs 12 upstanding from the top edge of the web 11, the webs 12 being bent over the narrow sections (10) to hold the bar 6 on the web 11.
