1,160,260. Distributing liquid in packed gas/ liquid contact columns. U.S. STONEWARE, Inc. 16 Dec., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965], No. 56514/66. Heading B1R. A device for distributing liquid over packing in a packed gas/liquid contact column comprises a tank 5 to which liquid is supplied and which extends over a series of troughs 16, disposed above the packing and supplied with liquid through openings 7 in the tank 5, each trough 16 having a plurality of risers (17) (not shown) in its base through which liquid passes to a shallow tray 20 suspended by straps 22 from the trough and thence onto the packing. As shown each pan 20 has low side walls over which liquid may flow and shallow channels 24 extending adjacent each side wall, each such channel having weep-holes through which the liquid passes.
