Point. - tongues, mounting of ; weight control. - Railway points are provided with a self-contained fitting comprising a rcller g supported between two walls mounted on or formed integral with a base-plate i secured to a sleeper or other convenient body. The fitting is so positioned that the chord length of the segment of the roller projecting above the tongue support e will equal the amplitude of movement of the point tongue minus the width of the tongue base. The fitting is shown as secured by a spike j which is beneath the tongue ia its open position.
