1,135,340. Benzodioxole derivatives. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 23 Oct., 1967 [7 Dec., 1966], No. 54825/66. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general Formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP> = alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl and R<SP>2</SP> = H, alkyl or halogen) and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting a compound of the Formula (II) (wherein R<SP>4</SP> stands for the group. wherein X = halogen) with R<SP>1</SP>NH 2 , optionally followed by salt formation. The preparation of the starting materials of Formula (II), e.g. 1-(1,3-benzodioxol-2-yl)-2- bromoethanol, is described. The compounds of the invention are #- adrenergic blocking agents, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them together with a diluent or carrier.
