Abstract

A film forming aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of a vinyl ester of an organic acid and butene-1 is prepared by copolymerizing a vinyl ester of a monocarboxylic acid and butene-1 in aqueous dispersion in the presence of a free radical catalyst and a surface-active agent and/or protective colloid. In the example are used vinyl acetate, butene-1, sodium lauryl sulphate, two ethylene oxide/nonyl phenol condensates, potassium bicarbonate, water and ammonium persulphate.
