Abstract
1,115,948. Turbine blades. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Nov. 17, 1966 [April 7, 1966], No.51495/66. Heading F1T. A gas turbine stator blade has internal cooling air passages defined by longitudinally extending U-section inserts 30 engaging corresponding ribs 28 on the blade walls. The inserts 30 are longitudinally shorter than the blade to define transverse passages 40, 42, the cooling air entering at 52 and leaving at 54 and through apertures 56 adjacent the trailing edge 22. The inserts are locked in position by tabs 44, 46 engaging end plates 50, 48 respectively.
