Abstract
1,110,292. Spray-producers. J. M. SHEARDOWN. 27 July, 1966 [27 July, 1965], No. 32038/65. Heading B2F. [Also in Division G3] Flow through a spray hose 20 is maintained at a substantially constant rate by means of a resilient annular insert 5 (Fig. 2) whose inner tubular wall 8 is deformed inwards relative to a pin 9' which passes therethrough. The pin has passages 21, 22 leading from atmosphere to the annular flow space to assist aeration of the water. The cross-section of the pin is such as to prevent complete stoppage of flow by the insert. The latter is made of natural or synthetic rubber or plastics material. The insert seats against a spacer 23 and its outer tubular wall 8' serves as a seal. Passages 21, 22 may be replaced by apertures in the wall 8 of the insert communicating with air inlet apertures in the wall of the housing.
