Abstract
1,101,273. Cleaning metals. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. April 15, 1965 [April 16, 1964], No.18096/67. Divided out of 1, 101, 272. Heading C7E. Oxide scale is removed from e.g. steel using a melt of an alkali metal hydride dissolved in a eutectic mixture of sodium and potassium hydroxide. The hydride content is 1 to 3% by weight, and it may be added as pieces coated with the eutectic mixture or as a homogeneous mass consisting of the hydride and the eutectic mixture. Apparatus for continuously descaling is described in Specification 1, 101, 272.
