Abstract

108,934. Short, H. W. Sept. 30, 1916. Man-hole and hand-hole doors and frames.- Fig. 1 shows a door frame provided with a groove to contain a flexible tube 21 which is inflated to make a tight joint. In a modification shown in Fig. 2, the door is grooved and the tube is surrounded by an elastic band 30, which, when the tube is deflated, contracts within the groove to avoid undue wear.
