1,069,966. Folding sliding doors. LAVORAZIONE MATERIE PLASTICHE L.M.P. S.p.A. Aug. 2, 1965 [Aug. 3, 1964], No. 32948/ 65. Headings E1J and E2F. In a folding sliding door the adjoining vertical edges of the slats 14, 16 are hinged by vertically extending flexible strips of extruded polypropylene of dumb-bell shape transverse section the polypropylene of the web 19 of which is molecularly orientated in its plane perpendicularly to the cylindrical beads 20, 21 of the strip, these beads being inserted loosely into cylindrical mortises in the slats, which open on the edges of the salts in slits which are wider than the thickness of the web 19 but smaller than the diameter of the heads 20, 21, and an abutment (not shown) is inserted at least in the bottom of the mortises to prevent the strips 19, 20, 21 from slipping out of the mortises vertically. When the slits are directly opposite each other, the web 19 is straight. Each slat comprises a flat tubular profile of extruded rigid plastics, e.g. P.V.C.
