Abstract

1,056,999. Hinged boxes. INITIAL PLASTICS Ltd. Dec. 7, 1965 [Dec. 9, 1964], No. 50135/64. Heading B8P. [Also in Division E2] Parts 1, 2 forming a container and lid are integrally injection moulded from polypropylene at 180 degrees to each other to give the open relation shown. The parts 1, 2 are connected by hinge sections 3, 4 (not shown), also injection moulded from polypropylene, and by a polypropylene strap 5. The description is mainly concerned with the hinge and strap, two embodiments of which hold the parts in an open or closed position, Figs. 2a-2f and 3a-3f (not shown), while the third embodiment, Figs. 1a-1f (only Fig. 1b shown), holds the parts in an intermediate partiallyclosed position, but not in the closed position when a catch is provided. The parts may be integrally moulded with the hinge and strap, or the latter may be attached to the parts after moulding.
