1,046,455. Valves. PARSAR TOOLS Ltd. Nov. 19, 1962 [Nov. 21, 1961], No. 41541/61. Heading F2V. An unloading valve for a pump comprises a plunger 15 which is loaded by a spring 17 towards a terminal position and arranged to be urged by fluid pressure to an operative position in which a projection 24 engages an abutment surface 35 to displace and open an unloading valve 7, the projection being threaded into the plunger at 26 and externally adjustable at 33 to vary the valve operating pressure by varying the clearance between the projection and the abutment surface. The number of Belleville washers in a stack constituting the spring 17 and the position of a screwed abutment ring 18 may also be varied to adjust the operating pressure. The pump outlet is connected at 12 to a chamber 22 having a seal 23 positioned around the plunger. Further seals 27, 28 prevent leakage along the projection 24.
