Abstract
1,036,986. Alternators. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. April 27, 1965 [April 28, 1964], No. 17596/65. Heading H2A. Build-up in a self-excited vehicle alternator is ensured by bucking the leakage paths in the rotating field system with permanent magnets. Various types of machine are described. In Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) an interdigitated pole rotor 18, 19 is excited by a fixed field member 14, 15, 16 and a permanent magnet 22 is arranged between each pole finger 20 and the oppositely poled ring 19, e.g. as shown in Fig. 6 (not shown). Alternatively the magnets may be placed between pole-fingers. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the field coil rotates with the poles. In a salient-pole form, Fig. 5 (not shown) the magnets 29 bridge adjacent pole-tips.
